Sheep Dung Ash as a Low-Cost Adsorbent for the Reduction of COD of Highly Polluted Oilfield-Produced Water

Herein, we introduce a low-cost, available, renewable, and effective solid adsorbent used for oilfield-produced-water treatment using straightforward process. In the present study, sheep dung ash was prepared same way this waste is produced in rural areas when as source of energy cooking heating: by burning with direct flame. The characterized FTIR, EDX, SEM analysis techniques. feasibility reducing COD oilfield-produced water initial 21,600 mg/L investigated. effect dose, contact time (in hours days), pH value, value on efficiency adsorption examined at room temperature. With shaking, maximum capacity reduction found to be 71.8% an dosage 30 g/L, 7, 1 h. Without 75% obtained 4 days. By applying experimental results Langmuir Freundlich models adsorption, it that process causing molecules follows both models.
